Sale Text: A beautiful lilac ground variegated pattern old Sevres China cabinet cup and saucer, the paintings enriched by Birds, of brilliant plumage.

Provenance: Probably Horace Walpole; probably 1842, Strawberry Hill Sale, day 11, lot 84 bt John P. Beavan, Esq., £2.12.6; possibly Alice Hay-Appleton and bequeathed by her to W.S. Lewis; The Lewis Walpole Library, Yale University.
